Drums

Barry has been playing drums and percussion since early high school. His love for music started with a record player at 3 years old and his parents vinyl collection that represented many genres of music. Barry took keyboard lessons as a child and developed a love of learning drum music charts. He began to teach himself drums and soon joined friends in a rock band that became popular for dances and parties. Formal drum lessons soon followed.

At 17 years old, Barry sat in with, and then became the regular drummer for, a Dixieland Jazz band that regularly performed in the Cleveland Flats. In college, he studied music theory which only increased his love of rhythm.

Even though his career was taking off, Barry took time out to serve in the United States Army. After serving his country, he continued as an accomplished drummer who worked for numerous booking agents and bands that utilized him extensively because of his skill at playing a wide range of music genres. Barry’s influences have included Gene Krupa, Danny Seraphine, and Joe Morello. Since the late 70’s, Barry has been focusing his talents on Classic Rock, a genre that is close to his heart.
